Mobile technology remains a growing priority for a 58% of organizations surveyed and a top priority for organizations to stay competitive in today’s landscape. The survey also found a large sum of money will be invested in mobile devices to enhance front-line worker productivity and increase customer satisfaction.

Additional key findings included:

  • Only one-fifth of organizations have a majority of their field-based operations using enterprise mobile devices. This number is estimated to climb upwards to 50 % within the next five years.
  • From 2018 to 2023, handheld mobile computer usage with built-in bar-code scanners is forecasted to grow by 45%, mobile printers by 53 % and rugged tablets by 54%
  • Seven in ten organizations agree faster mobile networks will be a key driver for field operations investment to enable the use of disruptive technology
